JAMES YABE
BIOGRAPHY

James Yabe began training in 1958 and is one of the most senior U.S. students of Hidetaka Nishiyama. Yabe was the grand champion of the 1st All America Karate Tournament in 1961 while still a brown belt. In 1962, 1963, 1966 and 1967, he added more victories in the All America Karate Tournament, and he was a member of the U.S. National Team at both the WUKO World Championships in 1970 in Tokyo and at the 2nd WUKO World Championships in 1972 in Paris.
A high ranking black belt, he holds credentials as a duly qualified instructor of the JKA, and he is the Technical Director of the American Shotokan Karate Alliance (ASKA).
His newest title is Shotokan MASTER Seminars: Free Sparring Strategies.
