ROD BUTLER
BIOGRAPHY
Rod Butler, Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate England, has 30 years of experience in Shotokan Karate. He was a long time member of the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB) and achieved his 4th Dan under Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda in May 1999 at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London. The late Sensei Enoeda was the highly respected Chief Instructor of the KUGB as well as the Chief Instructor of JKA (Japan Karate Association) Europe.
Butler's dojos in the North London area have produced more than 150 Black Belts, and many of his adult and children students have achieved national and international competition success.
In addition to overseeing his clubs as Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate England, Rod has trained in Tokyo at the JKA's honbu dojo and has written articles for various martial arts publications including Shotokan Magazine, Traditional Karate, and Fighting Arts International. He also assisted in the production of Sensei Enoeda's series of videos and books on advanced Shotokan kata.
Keinosuke Enoeda Tiger of Shotokan Karate is Butler's first book.
