TAMASHII PRESS ENVIRONMENT POLICY

Tamashii Press.com is taking an active role in preserving our environment.

To start with, whenever possible, we use packaging materials made of recycled and/or earth-friendly materials. We re-use or recycle whenever possible. Our offices and warehouse/packing facilities use compact flourescent lighting (cfl) exclusively, all of our business equipment is Energy Star(tm) compliant, and we participate in a recycling program that has lowered our volume of trash going into landfills by about 70%. (Any paper with any customer information is cross-cut (confetti) shredded before being turned over to the recycler.) We are planning to become carbon-neutral very soon, through a combination of efforts including tree planting and alternative energy use.

Your order will be packed safely and securely in one of the following package types:

a mailer containing recycled paper, newsprint, or plastic (currently we use cushioned mailers which contain 100% Recycled Paper, 10% Post-Consumer Content, and 10% Recycled Plastics)
a new box from another company that we have "saved from destruction" (sometimes these are printed incorrectly or the company no longer uses them for their products. Rather than these boxes being destroyed, we purchase and use them)
a high quality box that has been re-used (from incoming shipments to our company and our associates)
"Cradle to Cradle" Certified mailers that have been certified for material content, recyclability, and manufacturing characteristics that eliminate the concept of waste

We use "packing peanuts" which are either:

starch-based and biodegradeable
made of recycled materials
at the very least are re-used (again, from incoming shipments to our company and associates)

Not only does this environmentally-friendly policy help to protect valuable resources, but it also keeps our shipping costs lower, which saves you money! We urge you to re-use these materials again if at all possible, and if not, to please recycle them in a earth-friendly, responsible manner.

We support several community-based recycling programs and other programs that encourage a healty earth.

In addition, Tamashii Press is a proud supporter of Web Innovations and Technology Services, which provides no/low cost high-level technology training and free computers to low-income and underserved populations, while recycling safely to save landfills. WITS has a 0% landfill policy.
